Local Taxis

General
Taxi

Book in advance or call +500 51001 for a general taxi within the Stanley area. Prices start at £5 per pick up.

If you wish to book in advance/ ask for a quote, please specify how many passengers there will be and the pick up and destination.

Depending on how many passengers, the taxi may be shared unless you have requested otherwise.

Airport
Transfer

Book a private car or minibus for journeys to and from the Stanley Airport (FIGAS) or to Mount Pleasant Airport (MPA).

Private Car (4 people max.):

Private Tours

Stanley

This tour will take you to the main attractions in the Stanley City, including the 1914 War Memorial, 1982 Liberation Memorial, Cross of Sacrifice and the roadside Whalebone Museum. Your driver will take you around the City where you will be able to stop at the main attractions to look and take photos if you wish. A minimum of 2 people are required for this trip.

Gypsy Cove

This tour includes a 15-minute drive to and from Stanley with an hour stop to explore the colony of Magellanic Penguins. You'll be able to follow a footpath, unescorted and see the penguins in their natural habitat, spy the beautiful beach of Yorke Bay and enjoy the surrounding wildlife and nature. Includes passing of The Lady Elizabeth shipwreck and the Totem Pole.

Yorke Bay Point

15 minutes from Stanley, there is a colony of Gentoo penguins. Following a rough road, you will arrive at the location and proceed on foot for the remaining 5 minutes with your driver/guide. Crossing a couple of sand dunes, you step foot onto the beach of Yorke Bay and encounter the colony of penguins. Take a moment and appreciate the breath-taking views and wildlife!

Cape Pembroke Lighthouse

15 minutes from Stanley, built in the 1800s, standing at 18 metres tall, surrounded by coastline, is the local lighthouse. Nearby, you’ll also find the Atlantic Conveyer memorial made for the sailors that lost their lives for the 1982 war.

Mount Tumbledown

Located just 10 minutes outside of the City, this mountain is known as one of the last battle sites of the 1982 conflict. This tour is best for keen hikers and historians. A minimum of 4 people are required for this trip. Smaller parties are negotiable.

We can also offer trips to Mount Harriett, Longdon and The Two Sisters if requested.

Argentine Military Cemetery

This tour is approximately 4 hours long as it involves a 1 hour and 30 minute drive to and from the cemetery and about an hour to explore. If taking this tour you will get a great feel for what the Falklands landscape is like, truly something not to be missed.

A minimum of 4 people are required for this trip and snacks will be provided if booked in advance. This tour is best suited to people wanting to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers of the 1982 conflict.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Please be advised, these trips are not suitable for pregnant women, wheelchairs or mobility scooters, you must be fit enough to walk and we do not supply walking poles or car seats. We accept payment on the day of the trip by cash or card. There are no deposits required and there are no cancellation fees if the ship is cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
